This October, Wreck Racing competed in the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine $2000 Challenge. Beginning with the 2019 competition, the rules of the challenge were changed to fix the budget at $2000. We competed with a modified version of our Chevy V8 swapped BMW E28 from 2018, now turbocharged and converted to run on E85 biofuel. We placed 6th in overall autocross/drag times, with a 1st place finish in concours pulling us to 3rd place overall. We also pulled the “Best Engineered Car” award for the second year in a row. In addition to our race car, we rolled into competition in style with a custom motorized couch made from salvaged Lime scooters. It’s been another great year for Wreck Racing, and we are beyond thankful for our sponsors, Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, and the Georgia Institute of Technology for making it all possible.
